Overview
First Data - Australia & New Zealand was established when First Data acquired North Sydney-based EFTEL Limited in 1992. The purchase of EFTEL was the initial building block of First Data's strategy to establish a substantial transaction card processing operation in Australia and the wider region.
In April 2004, First Data acquired Cashcard Australia Limited - a leading electronic payments service provider in the Australian marketplace. The Cashcard network operates ATMs for merchants and manages ATMs through outsourcing arrangements with other ATM operators in Australia.
First Data’s headquarters for the region are located in Sydney, Australia with support centres in both Sydney and Melbourne - as well as representative offices in Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth. First Data International also has offices in Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand.
