First Data currently operates in Brazil providing non-bank correspondence (NBC) capabilities to 10,000 merchant locations throughout the country.  Our technology solution allows small business establishments, such as delis, drugstores and neighborhood markets to accept payments at their points-of-sale (POS) on behalf of Brazil's largest financial institutions.  These establishments also provide traditional banking activities such as: account opening, payments, loans and savings bonds. First Data also provides software and services for card processing, loyalty and prepaid gift card programs.  First Data operates from a regional office in São Paulo.
