Electronic document archiving service awarded Silver status in the category ‘Eco-Friendliness’

Bad Vilbel, Germany, February 15, 2012 – TeleCash GmbH & Co. KG, a First Data company and one of the leading network operators for card payments processing in Germany, has received an award from specialist retail publication handelsjournal for the second year in a row. Following nominations from a panel of experts, the readers of this industry magazine voted the TeleCash service onlineArchive ‘Top Retail Product 2012.’ The electronic document archiving service was awarded Silver status in the category ‘Eco-Friendliness.’

“We are delighted to have again won a handelsjournal award for one of our products,” said TeleCash Managing Director Mark Freese. “This reflects the consideration we give to the environment as well as the economic contribution of our product innovations. I am confident that the environmental-friendliness of business processes will continue to grow in importance for retailers.”

onlineArchive puts an end to reams of paper at the checkout. Following payment, the retailer’s copy of the receipt is no longer printed out and is instead saved electronically. For payments that require a signature, the customer provides this via a digital SignPad. The signature is then captured together with the receipt data and saved in digital form. After the transaction has been completed the electronic merchant receipt is archived centrally on a secure server at TeleCash. The customer receives a paper receipt as normal.

With onlineArchive, retailers can make significant savings in terms of time and costs associated with traditional till archiving. onlineArchive eliminates the need for retailers to set up their server PCs or undertake time-consuming updates to their cash register software or receipt texts – with onlineArchive these tasks are carried out centrally by TeleCash.

“The advantage is two-fold, benefiting both the environment and enabling process and cost optimisation,” said Mark Freese. “This is one of the reasons why onlineArchive is particularly attractive as a mainstream solution for medium-sized businesses.”

It was the fourth time that the handelsjournal had invited its readers to vote on the best and most innovative products in the supplier and capital goods industry. Each year, products that stand out for their energy-efficient and climate-neutral characteristics are entered in the ‘Eco-Friendliness’ category. Last year, the TeleCash service managedIQ won gold in the category ‘Payment Management.’
