SYDNEY, Feb. 10, 2011 – First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment services, today announced it has promoted John Tait as its new managing director, Australia and New Zealand. The change, which is effective today, is part of the company's management succession plan. Former managing director Grant Lines, who has held the role since 2008, plans to leave the company on Feb. 16, 2011 following a transition of duties.

Previously, Tait has been senior vice president, Client Relationships and Sales, responsible for the strategy development, effective planning, management and performance of the Sales & Service department, responsible for driving profitable revenue and client retention.

Before joining First Data, in 2001, John worked for the National Australia Bank in a number of different management roles in its Global Payments division, including all aspects of the bank's payment product set. He holds a Master's degree in business administration from the Sydney Graduate School of Management.
