Collaboration allows small- and medium-sized businesses to accept card payments online

London, November 22, 2011 – First Data Merchant Solutions, First Data’s direct-to-market merchant acquiring business, today announced it has been selected by Volusion, a leading provider of e-commerce shopping cart software and services for online merchants, to provide additional options for payment processing to its customers. The agreement will see First Data Merchant Solutions support Volusion’s community of small and medium-sized businesses in accepting online credit and debit card payments.

Volusion allows entrepreneurs and small business owners to quickly and easily set up all the elements required to sell products and services online, including website design, merchandising, multi-level marketing as well as debit and credit card processing.  As part of the agreement, UK Volusion customers will have the option to open a merchant account  using a one click referral process, allowing them to accept and settle online card payments as a customer of First Data Merchant Solutions.*

Volusion also partners with Realex Payments to provide its customer base with a secure gateway to compliment Volusion’s PCI DSS-compliant payment page and SSL certification.
