This site in conjunction with your Merchant Welcome Booklet contains all of the information you will need to begin using your TeleCheck service. We ask that you review the information carefully to help ensure that you receive the full benefits of TeleCheck. Among the items enclosed in your kit, you will find a number of useful decals, including TeleCheck logo decals that, when displayed, let your customers know you accept checks. You will also find return check fee decals, which by contract, must be placed at every point-of-sale (POS) payment terminal in your store, where customers will notice and read them.
Getting Started with TeleCheck
To begin processing transactions with TeleCheck, you will first need to ensure that your POS terminal is programmed to communicate with TeleCheck. If you purchased a terminal at the time you purchased your service, your terminal should arrive pre-programmed.
For information on getting an existing terminal programmed, consult the Quick Reference Guide (QRG) enclosed in your Merchant Welcome Booklet. Please note that the front page of the QRG specifies all information you will need to have ready before you make the call to have your terminal programmed.
Training to Use Your TeleCheck Service
Once your terminal is programmed, you will be ready to receive training. Please note that you must call to receive your training.
For training on all other services, call 1-800-366-1054. Once connected, follow the prompts on the Interactive Voice Response system to be connected to one of our training specialists. Training is available Monday - Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. CST.
NOTE: When calling this number, please have your 8-digit TeleCheck merchant ID number available. This number can be found on the inside front pocket of this booklet, preceded by the letters "MID."
