Denver area shoppers can find unique and creative gifts this holiday season while supporting young business owners. Hosted by the Young Americans Center for Financial Education, a non-profit organization that First Data sponsors, the Young Entrepreneurs Marketplace features more than 120 different businesses owned by youth ages 6-21, selling homemade goodies, original artwork, handcrafted jewelry and much more. All products are handmade and personally sold by the owners.

For the first time, 12 of these young business owners will be able to accept payment by credit and debit cards using First Data's wireless credit card terminals. Using state-of-the-art payment terminals donated by First Data, these youth-owned businesses will be able to offer their customers the same kind of fast, efficient sales experience as other stores, and they’ll see an immediate infusion of profits into their Young Americans Bank accounts.

Financial literacy is a cornerstone of First Data’s commitment to Financial Empowerment, one of three pillars of our commitment to corporate social responsibility. By introducing our future business leaders to the newest payment technology, First Data is helping them succeed and prosper in an increasingly complex world of electronic commerce.
