  • Should I build my Yahoo! Merchant Solutions store first or apply for a First Data account?

    Build your Yahoo! Merchant Solutions store first. Before your First Data merchant account can be established, we need to verify what your online site will sell. Please list your web store address (URL) on the First Data merchant application for our Underwriting Team to review.
    Must my website be 100% complete and/or open for business?

    First Data needs to see some basic products and prices listed on the site to move forward. For example, if you state that your Yahoo! Merchant Solutions store will be selling hats and T-Shirts, we need to see some hats and T-shirts listed on the site. Yahoo! is usually able to review a temporary website address that can be viewed before the website is open for business.
    Does First Data have a pre-approval process for merchant processing?

    Unfortunately not. First Data has partnered directly with Yahoo!. Our online merchant application may be accessed only through the Yahoo! Store Manager section. (You have access to the Yahoo! Store Manager after you sign up for a Yahoo! Merchant Solutions store.) We also need to review the site before approving the merchant account.
    Where is the First Data /Yahoo! Merchant Solutions online merchant application?

    Please follow the steps below to access the online First Data application:

    • 1.Establish an account with Yahoo! Merchant Solutions.
    • 2. Sign in to your account at http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/merchant
    • 3. Go to the Yahoo! Store Manager.
    • 4. Go to "Pay Center."
    • 5. Click "Add new processor."
    • 6. Select "Sign up for a merchant account" select "First Data" and click "Next"
    • 7. Review the information and click "Sign up with First Data".
    • 8. Complete the First Data application process.

    • MasterCard/Visa®/Discover® credit card discount rate 2.56% + 0.20 per trans

    • Charge-back fee-$15.00
    • Monthly minimum fee-$15.00 (charged only if your total fees are less than $15 for the month.)
