Australians will soon be able to top up their prepaid mobile accounts at Cashcard ATMs. In 2013, First Data is launching Prepaid@ATM, a prepaid mobile recharge solution which will be available on all direct-connected wireless and DSL Cashcard ATMs. Consumers who have prepaid mobile accounts with participating mobile providers will be able to use Cashcard ATMs around Australia to load credit onto their mobile phone account.
Currently, the functionality to top up prepaid mobiles at ATMs is limited; and it is only available through bank networks with access for their own cardholders. Cashcard’s Prepaid@ATM solution will be available for all debit cardholders in Australia.
Prepaid@ATM will pave the way for future additional functionality and as our mobile services partners promote this functionality to their mobile users, Cashcard merchants will benefit from increased foot traffic.
How does it work?
Mobile customers will enter the mobile number they want to top up at the ATM, and the value will be credited to the account immediately with an on-screen notification at the ATM and an SMS notification sent to the mobile by their mobile services provider. This service is designed to be quick and easy to use. It will allow cardholders to enter the mobile number directly to the ATM, reducing the need for receipts and additional processes.
